Chapter 124
"I think we should take a break," the uncle said and Iskander agreed. I felt a wave of relief wash over me. My body was aching from the training, and I was grateful for the chance to rest. Iskander motioned for me to follow him, and we headed to a small kitchen off to the side of the training room. He gestured for me to sit at the table, and then he went to the refrigerator and pulled out some cold water. He handed me a glass, and I took a long, grateful drink.
As I sipped my water, Iskander leaned against the counter, his gaze thoughtful. "You're doing very well," he said. "Your progress is remarkable. Tell me, how are you feeling about all of this?" I paused, considering my answer. "It's...a lot," I said finally. "It's exhausting, and sometimes it's scary. But...it's also exhilarating.
