I finally found a beautiful black gown that was long enough to cover my knees although I thought of covering the bruises with makeup too. I got into the shower and let the hot water run down my body so the wind could reduce.
I got my towel and dabbed my skin dry. Applied some balm on the knees and then sat on my dressing table to do my makeup. I stared at myself in the mirror for a while and reflected a little bit on how my life had changed. I wished Dad never felt ill and his company didn't have to run into bankruptcy, I wouldn't have had to be Joseph's pet toy.
I snapped out of my thoughts and got dressed. Even though I was married to a billionaire, I didn't own a car. The one I once owned was sold out to take care of Dad's medical expenses. So I boarded a cab and stopped at my father's house.
