Chapter 66. The Curse
Zera’s POV
Deep down, I knew what I asked for. I wanted to see him. That might have been difficult, but I wanted to see him without any barriers. I wanted to see him shift into his wolf form.
He took a step back, and his withdrawal made my heart clench in my chest. “Aaron.”
He shook his head, unwilling to grant my only request. “Zera, I have little control over my wolf’s form unless I practice. I do not want to scare you.”
I smiled and cupped his face, and my small hands barely did justice to cover up his face. His long lashes fluttered at the touch of my hands, and he sighed.
“You can’t scare me. You never have. Not really.” I smiled at him.
His eyes fluttered, and they met mine, and I beheld the genuine vulnerability there. I knew my request was not one he felt most comfortable granting.
