Chapter 57
As I slid farther off the bed, finally planting both of my feet onto the plush carpet, I looked down and marveled at how pleasantly soft it felt beneath me. It struck me for the first time that it was a beautiful deep steel-blue-gray hue, perfectly complementing everything else in the room.
That guy definitely had an eye for design, I thought with a small smile, but it quickly faded when a flash of pain shot through my abdomen as I straightened myself up from the bed.
The discomfort was dull and not nearly as intense as it had been when I got into bed the previous night, so I figured I should be able to walk out to the two males without wobbling too terribly.
Their rumbling voices reached my ears now, though I couldn't quite make out their words, as they clearly tried to speak softly enough to avoid disturbing me. Or perhaps they were discussing something they didn't want me to overhear.
