Chapter 10
As planned, he went to get a lot of garlic. One of the maids assisted him in peeling and slicing them. He started frying them by batch when Aubrey suddenly showed up and stared daggers at him. “Hello, my wife,” he smiled at her as he continued stirring the garlic on the pan.
“What are you doing right now, Collin? And you,” she glared at the maid, “do you want to get fired?”
The maid shook her head and reasoned out, “Mr. Hendricks said it was alright, Miss Aubrey.”
“Yes, I told her that,” Collin owned up to his instructions. “Go and leave us for a moment,” he instructed the maid. “What is it, Aubrey? Did you have to be mean today?”
“My instructions were clear, Collin. No garlic inside my home!”
“I love garlic, and I always eat them,” he reasoned out.
“Then starve yourself,” she said without thinking properly.
