Chapter 13. My Husband, My Boss

“Let’s say, get hired or get fired? Your choice!” threatened him.

Chloe didn’t answer right away. Not because she was afraid of losing her job, but because she was battling her thoughts about what she did wrong to deserve this.

Since a calm conversation between them wasn’t plausible. Hawkins had to come in between.

“Mrs. Schneider, would you like some tea?”

“Please, don’t call me that. Just Chloe. And yes, I need something soothing and relaxing before I crack your boss’s head,” she whispered and Hawkins let out a soft chuckle.

Tyler heard what she said but he didn’t mind it. He expected her to be this way, with his first encounter, he knew she would be hard to control. And getting her to agree to his plan would yet be another great challenge.
