Chapter 39
As they came in with the doctor, Xavier pushed his grandfather in the wheelchair into the ward where Jessica was staying. Jessica turned when she heard the door open and sat up straight.
Her eyes lit up as she set her eyes on Dawson in the wheelchair. Ever since she met him, this was the first time she had seen him outside of the ward. She was still planning on taking him home.
“How do you feel today, Mrs. Delgado?” the doctor asked, rubbing alcohol-based sanitizer on his hands before touching her.
“Much better,” she said.
“Could you lie down for me? I would like to check something,” the doctor responded.
Jessica nodded before lying down on her back. Xavier moved Dawson away from the door, and they both waited silently in the seating area.
