Chapter 9
“I don’t know Mia. But we need a new apartment where Sergio can’t find me,” she added, taking a seat on a bench in the staff room. Sadness had filled her voice by the moment.
Mia placed her makeup kit in the bag and looked at her sadly. “I wish you told me early about Sergio...we would have figured something out earlier or I think.”
It was more of a fear for both of them.
They had run out of ideas though she knew Sergio would never leave her alone to breathe.
She stood off the bench and looked at Mia. “We’re five minutes late for work,” she said, eyeing the wall clock, trying to erase the tension around, and Mia nodded, not knowing what to say. Then they both walked out before splitting up.
She walked over to the counter and smiled at Roche, who was mixing drinks. At least, finally, she could remember his name.
