Chapter 33

Damian woke up earlier than usual. He couldn't sleep. Every time he closed his eyes, he had visions and dreams of Lilian and none of them were good. Before he went to bed, he had one of the guards come in and peek at her from under her door. He reported that he saw her lying quietly on the floor and that she didn't stir or move when he knocked. He looked at his watch, it was 5 am. He got up from bed and went to have a look at Lilian. He however didn't go with the keys, lest it was all a trick. He got to her room and looked under her door and he could just make out the figure of her body lying motionlessly on the floor in the same position that was described to him last night. He knocked and called her name but she didn't stir or move. There was a problem. He hurried back to his room and got the keys. He unlocked the door and went into the room.
