He then began to suspect that Brenda and her friends were playing pranks on them just like everyone else had been doing.
“If this turns out to be a hoax, one of those kids will be going home in a body bag,” he said frustratedly after they drove for another ten gruelling minutes.
Tanner chuckled. “Let's be a little patient. It may be worth it after all.”
Cain then picked up his walkie talkie.
“Officer Barnes, this is Detective Cain. What are the kids saying? We ain't there yet? Over.”
“Detective,” Barnes replied. “The kid says were close, their treehouse is just around the corner so the shack can't be that far. Over.”
