Rachel's POV

"Where were you!" Ethan's loud voice sounded in my ears the moment I stepped into the living room.

What is his problem? I flinched at the loudness of his voice.

"Somewhere..."

He raised his brows.

"I'm being serious! I came back home early, and you were nowhere to be found."

Was he worried about me?

I felt a smile creeping on my cheeks. I coughed awkwardly to dismiss it.

"I just went out to visit a friend."

"A friend?" Ethan repeated his tone showing that he didn't believe me.

Does he think Lana is the only friend I have?

I rolled my eyes before taking my seat on one of the three-seater chairs.

I bent down to remove my shoes. "Marina... I went to visit Marina. You remember her right, the girl that..." I paused looking at Ethan.

He had his hands crossed on his chest, and one eyebrow raised waiting for me to continue my explanation. The way he crossed his arms, made the muscles in his arm pop.
