Daniel’s POV
The talk with Davies was hard. The client was yelling about delays, threatening to pull out. I had to be firm, comforting, and promise answers I wasn’t sure I could give. I hung up, feeling tired.
This was my world, demanding and never stopping. It was very different from the quiet closeness I’d shared with Sienna just hours before. That was where I found a different kind of peace, a different kind of challenge.
I leaned back in my chair, looking out the window at the shining city. All this, all my success, sometimes felt empty. I had money, power, freedom. But what I really wanted was a real connection. Something meaningful. And Sienna felt real. Dangerously real.
I pushed the plans aside, picked up my phone again. I paused. I usually didn’t think much about texts. But with her, every word felt important. Was she busy? Or was she purposely ignoring me? The thought made my jaw tight.
