Daniel’s POV

My knuckles hit the door, a quick, sharp knock that matched the pounding in my chest as I waited. The quiet of the street felt like it held its breath, then the lock clicked with the door being opened slowly.

Sienna stood there, her eyes got wide when she saw me. She looked shocked and pale as her lips parted, but no sound came out. She wore a simple robe, tied loosely at her waist. Her hair was a wild, messy frame around her face.

I didn’t wait for her to speak, I didn’t even let her say one word. I stepped inside, pushing the door open wider. She stumbled back, surprised. Her hand, still on the doorknob, quickly pulled the door shut behind me with a soft click, the sound closed us in.
