Chapter 177
The sound of gunfire cracked through the air like lightning splitting the heavens.
Murat’s fingers flew to his phone, dialing Mir in haste.
“We’re under attack. Track my location and send the guards. Now.”
No sooner had he ended the call than he reached under the front seat, retrieving two pistols. With a swift, practiced motion, he loaded them, then turned to Ayleen, who was frozen in her spot, her body trembling in fear.
“To hell with these idiots!” Murat growled under his breath. His jaw tightened, and with lethal precision, he aimed and fired, taking down one man, then another. But more of them kept coming, their bullets shredding through the car, leaving gaping holes in the metal frame.
He emptied one magazine, then the second. CLICK. CLICK, out of bullets.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” he muttered, tossing the empty weapons aside and pulling out a smaller backup gun. His hands remained steady, but his mind was racing. They were outnumbered,
