Chapter 41
Riek's POV
Bardulf enters the helicopter through the left door while in the right, we sit down with Fridolf sitting in our midst. I reason that it wouldn't be convenient for him to sit alone, being that he is just five years old and this is his first time flying. I attempt to place him on my lap but Bardulf reaches out and prevents me.
"I'd rather do that!" He says. My eyes pop out in amazement. But he isn't your son? I find myself asking through the gaze I'm giving him. He smiles at me, taking Fridolf from my hands.
"Whether he is my son or not, I love him!" He says with such tenseness that I can't help but shed tears.
