“You have been quiet since you woke up this morning, Evelyn.” Kael said, looking at me. He was fixing his shirt and I closed my eyes. I didn’t like it when he saw me this way, but I also knew that this was the one place where I could be who I was, where I did not have to pretend to be strong, where I did not need to look at others with strength, where I could weaken if I needed to.
