I woke up the next morning very agile; the halls of the palace were quiet, and I could hear the birds chirping. The pack was worried about the health of my father, and I was worried too. It’s not like I couldn’t handle the pack on my own if push came to shove, but I didn’t want to handle the heartbreak that comes with losing a loved one. 

I got news from Leo last night that my father is now in a more stable condition, but he hasn’t fully recovered yet. Even though I was grateful for Roxanne’s effort in stabilizing him, I still wondered why she wasn’t able to heal him fully. Before her father died, he was known as the most powerful healer in all packs; he was even stronger than my father, who was still Alpha at the time, and he had passed some of those powers on to Roxanne.
