Chapter 17. Temptation

After Roxanne threw up on me, I took off my clothes, as I didn’t want to be drenched in vomit. I returned to the room and discovered she had thrown up on herself again and was sleep-talking.

The sight made me chuckle instead of being irritated; she was such a silly girl, drinking to the extent of getting drunk even when she knew she had a low alcohol tolerance.

I looked at the sleeping figure on the bed. Thankfully, she didn’t throw up on the bed. I walked towards the bed and crouched down, stroking her hair lovingly as she squirmed on the bed. She must be uncomfortable sleeping with that dirty cloth.

Hearing her say she had a man whom she loved today had hurt me in ways I couldn’t explain. When did I have such strong feelings for her? Or was it the mate bond?
