Chapter 63. In Another City

[Claire’s Point-of-View]


I was tired but I couldn't sleep in this kind of situation.

It had been raining since I left the Tyrell Pack. I was lucky that my cloak was thick enough to protect me from the cold.

The road towards the place was terrifying. I thought I had seen human silhouettes and figures while I was in the middle of the woods but it was a miracle that nothing happened to me despite the horrible screeches and howling I heard. I thought I had even heard voices murmuring behind the woods.

I decided to name my horse Gram. I didn't know why the name suddenly popped up in my head but it was the closest I think that suited him. He bravely faced all the scary things in the forest with me but all that time, he was calm and sure of his feet while running forward toward the place. The second we reached the gate, that was when I felt his exhaustion. He panted like crazy, looking for water to replenish his thirst.
