Chapter 69. Things We Do to Survive
The days went by with only Jeff and me trying to get busy with what we needed to do while we made sure that no one would recognize us in the small country of Careon.
He tended to my horse, Gram, every day after our breakfast. I always find something to do, like working in the kitchen, cleaning and doing our laundry, and sorting it out to hang and dry, mainly by the wind because the sky was too miserably dark even at noon, with heavy clouds and cold rain.
This place wasn’t too far from the Tyrell Pack but the weather was drastically different, unlike there, where the sun shone so brightly in the morning with a cool breeze that was pleasant on the skin. It made me miss the pack manor, but the memories I had there were just too awful to make me feel lonely.
A week passed by without any news about what was happening in the manor. I occasionally went to the town plaza, buying newspapers and looking for any news about the pack but it seemed that the council was very awar
