Chapter 18
Claire's POV
I gave an eye roll. "I don't believe that, and as soon as I can, I'm leaving. I don't have any plans to stay." I told you.
The faces of demons became harsh. "That wouldn't be smart. Hunter has many enemies who would love to get their hands on his mate. If they don't get to you first, Hunter will find you, and it won't be fun."
I squinted and leaned forward a little. "Well, I guess he has to catch me first." I began to move from side to side. I leaned back on the swing and looked up at the tree, getting lost in its beauty and trying, if only for a moment, to forget about everything.
The sun shone through the tree's small holes, which made it look even more beautiful. I kept swinging, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw Demon get up from the bench.
"It's time to go inside. Soon it will be time for lunch, and I still have some work to do."
I sighing. "You can go in; I'll be fine out here by myself. I'm a big girl who can take care of
