Chapter 23
Claire's POV
I laughed out loud, and as I leaned forward, I could feel the warmth of my laughter on my cheeks. Let me be frank: I don't care. Hunter and I need to talk about some things." I wouldn't change my mind no matter what he said.
Demon made a deep, guttural groan. "Okay, no more stalling. Let's go."
We moved carefully from the kitchen to the dark, musty hallway. As I walked down the hallway, the smell of mildew and dust gave me the creeps. As we carefully made our way to the big wooden door, we could feel the grain of the wood and see the coat of arms of the pack carved into the door.
After Demon knocked on the door, a loud, booming voice came from the other side. "Get lost."
I pushed Demon away and stomped loudly into the room. Hunter was sitting at the big, old oak desk. As he pinched the bridge of his nose, the wood creaked under his hands. "I said 'fuck,' but it was you. What are you looking for?" He looked upset and didn't seem happy to see
