Chapter 81

Claire's POV

I kept going over her words in my head over and over again so I wouldn't forget anything.

Finally, I nodded my head. "All right, thanks." I took the things from her and was walking toward the door when the witch stopped me by calling my name.

"Claire." She shouted, "Good luck." She said something important.

Before leaving the cabin, I pursed my lips and gave her a short nod. I went outside and made my way to where the trees split. I stepped over the threshold and back into the forest of the damned, where everything looked dark and gloomy again.

Crossing the barrier had worn me out and made me feel like I had no energy left. I looked for Cain once I was on the other side, but I couldn't find him anywhere.

I started to worry that something had happened to him and that I couldn't help him anymore.

He came out of nowhere and started throwing his hands around like he was crazy and punching the air.

"Claire!" I just stood there
