Chapter 35
The food had not yet fully gone down, still stuck in Kattie’s throat. She was speechless, instinctively reaching for her chest and hitting it a few times. However, the food wouldn’t go down. Viktor, sitting across from her, was also worried. He stood up, poured a glass of water, and brought it in front of her.
She quickly grabbed the glass, taking a big gulp. The food followed the flow of water, and now she could regain her composure. Viktor, now less worried, asked her with concern, “Are you feeling better?”
“I’m okay now, thank you,” Kattie replied.
Viktor sat back down, observing her for a moment, and chuckled lightly to break the tense atmosphere, teasing her, “Just a stroll together, no need to react like that…”
Kattie blushed, hastily denying his words, “No… it’s not like that.”
“I…”
Seeing her struggle to explain, Viktor spoke up, “It’s okay. I was just teasing you a bit.”
She regained her composure, opened her mouth to say something,
