Chapter 37

Eleanor POV

I opened my eyes at the sound of an owl, cooing around.

I frowned in confusion as I realized that I slept sitting down, and the low thumps that were behind me caused me to straighten up. 

His arms, Alpha Killian’s, tightened around me for a second before I turned around to find him smiling as he looked down at me with gentle eyes. 

“Easy, baby girl.” He said, his voice comforting, above a whisper, making my chest swell.

“We stayed outside all this time?” I asked, voicing out my question before I could stop myself. He chuckled and nodded before helping me fix the sleeve of my dress. The fact that instead of being threatening to take it off, that he fixed it, meant a lot more than he would think to me.

“I didn’t want to carry you in
