Chapter 63
KILLIAN
I woke up with Eleanor laying on my chest.
Her eyes were closed as her chest rose and fell, and I didn’t even know how I managed to doze off, but after her hours of crying, she passed out, no longer having the energy to keep her eyes open.
I unwrapped my arms from around her, careful not to wake her up as I did before laying her more comfortably on the pillow. “I know that you are confused and are in more pain than you can handle, but I give you my word that things are going to be okay.”
My voice was above a whisper as I spoke, and I leaned in, connecting my lips with her forehead before I walked toward my closet.
While in normal states, I would have come out here with a towel wrapped around my waist after taking a shower; I knew better than to do so. The last thing that I wanted was to scare her off, and knowing that she was sensitive right now, I didn’t want her mind to go somewhere that I wouldn’t be able to bring her back from.
