Mate?

Raphael was caught completely off guard. He had never expected to hear the word from her at all. It was then he realized how close he was to her face and quickly loosened his grip before stepping backwards.

The warmth he felt when he held her earlier immediately disappeared as soon as their skin lost contact but the effect was still there. Even after he let go, Raphael still felt the heat reverberating in his hand.

“ Leave.” He said and looked away. There was no point standing and dragging this matter.

“ Just go away.” He stressed his words, his gaze returning to her. “ Go from here.”

Raphael felt the anger rippling through his face as he stared at her. He was angry but he didn’t know if it was at her, himself or the Goddess. He was mad at himself for remaining alive even after Alena was taken away from him.
