Silas - Pov

I stood in the infirmary as Letty’s parents and Yuri’s mother waited for the doctor. “Son-in-law,” said Maya’s mum.

“Mother,” I whispered. With a kind grin, she looked at me.

“Freya, we’re supposed to look after our daughter, so don’t talk to him,” Maya’s father, Terrace, said with disdain as he looked at me. When he found out about Maya’s death, he blamed me.

When the doctor came out of the emergency room, Terrance nervously inquired, “How is Letty doing?”

“How is my daughter Yuri?” Gabrielle inquired, worried.

“In critical condition, we are trying our best,” the doctor replied, motioning for me to see him in the cabin alone. So the situation is bad enough that he cannot go into more detail.

“Will our second daughter perish?” Freya wailed as Terrance tried to console her.

“Mom, I’ll make sure nothing bad happens to Letty,” I whisper, and she nods as she slowly stops her sobs, and Terrance leads her away for rest, not leaving w
