Chapter 24

Flashback (B)

After mama and papa's burial, I couldn't remember the direction mama had given to me earlier and it made me start sobbing. I tried all I could to remember but each time I stressed it I ended up having a blazing headache which left me screaming and gasping for air.

I asked the ladies that helped me bury mama and papa but none could give me directions cause the three of them couldn't even speak English which left me wondering how they understood what I was saying.

Once I asked a question in English they all ended up speaking their language, It was then I realized that they could hear what I was saying but couldn't speak.

Having no other option I walked away from them in tears and a heavy heart. I couldn't stop shivering cause I was so afraid to the extent that I feared even the slightest squeak of a lizard.

I went back to mama and papa's hut and tried relaxing my mind but couldn't so I decided to leave no matter what it takes. That day I beg
