Chapter 37. The Death of Her Mate
Carlos groaned as he opened his eyes two hours after Yasmin left. He patted the bed, hoping to snuggle into her and his eyes flicked open when he patted nothing. He shot up in bed and went round the house, looking for her.
He met one of the night workers in the house and stopped him. “Have you seen Yasmin?”
The man nodded. “Yes, my lord. The Luna was dressed and left the house.”
“What?” Carlos groaned.
The man continued. “I believe she couldn’t sleep and decided to take a walk because it didn’t seem like she was dressed to take only a few minutes’ walk.”
Blood drained from Carlos’s face as he thought of the only possibility that could mean. He was in trouble. He almost fell down flat on his face as he rushed to the Bennett’s house, howling loudly on his way to alert the pack that there was trouble and they needed to move.
