“In the morning Michael, you will arrest this lady for kidnapping and should Matilda pass on in her sleep you are to end her life immediately, do you understand?” Thallus said in a loud voice and I was frozen momentarily by the command.

I was to kill Raya should Matilda die? How could I do that? Besides judging from the state of Matilda there was little hope that she would last that long.

“Your Majesty? May I have a word with you in private?” I asked. I was not certain how but I had to convince Thallus to refute that order.
