Keenan’s POV

“There was a time Qing was under the rule of werewolves, a lot has changed.”

“We must hide our scents if we’re to go to Qing,” I said to Raya. It was the only way we could enter Qing anyway. I knew a lot of werewolves who visited Qing on occasion but no one did so without disguise except if the person were trying to commit suicide.

“Of course, if we do not we will be killed on sight,” came Raya’s reply.

“That means we must pretend to be humans, that is the only way we can enter Qing,” I said. Disguising as a vampire could draw attention to us and since the holiday was meant primarily for humans it was the best course of action to take.

“Humans that live in Qing are slaves and occupy the lowest rung of society. They are seen as animals there, they have no rights. Vampires are allowed to bite into humans at random, imagine what will happen if we’re bitten into?” Raya said with a shudder. I did not have to imagine, if a vampire bit us a
