Adrian’s POV
Dismissing the thought I’m what I should protect her from. I take two steps closer to her so I’m standing within an inch of her body, looking down at her, I bring my hand to her cheek and swipe away the tear that rolls down her cheeks when she blinks at me. In the process, I find myself lost in her eyes. I’ve noticed that every time my eyes discover her eyes, I can’t seem to look away. The pull of her gaze is strong, intriguing and utterly hypnotic. The moment I blink is when I’m set free from her spell-casting eyes. “What was I explaining?” I ask, looking away from her eyes before I do something I will regret later.
“Fear.”
“Fear is merely an illusion; it’s all up in your head; it doesn’t precisely exist. Fear is something your mind conjures up to play tricks on you. Close your eyes and tell me what you see.”
“A butcher’s knife, it has blood on it, so much blood.” She breaths.
“Hey, hey. Look at me, it’s okay. It’s all in your head, see?”<
