Leia's POV

"Leia, there you are," Daisy said, her smile a beacon of familiarity. "I was just about to seek Alpha Xavier and Alpha Kai. They wanted help, and since Vincent couldn't make it because of his recovery, I came." Daisy had been my closest confidante, a stalwart pillar I could rely on ever since I was forced to leave the pack and Rovina behind. The harsh realization that she was the one who killed Vincent, my other trusted friend, was a betrayal that cut me deep. Vincent was the one who believed in me, recognized my abilities, and employed me at Blackmoon Cooperative.

"Leia, you seem frozen. Is something wrong?" Daisy's voice pulled me from my thoughts. As she touched my arm, I couldn't help but flinch. She looked at me, her brow furrowing in puzzlement. I had to keep my emotions in check. I couldn't let her know I was into her true identity. Not yet, anyway. I had to get word to Xavier and Kai first.
