Chapter 41. War Zone
The Luna ceremony concluded flawlessly. Initially, I harbored anxieties that an unexpected event might spoil the festivities and endanger the pack members. But allowing this thought to dominate my enjoyment of the party was something I couldn't afford.
The following day saw Xavier, Kai, and myself at breakfast, each of us lost in our own world of thoughts. A shared concern hung in the air. - why hadn't the attack happened last night? How long could we feign ignorance of Daisy's actions without it becoming suspicious? With thoughts swirling in my head, I let out an audible sigh.
"Something seems to be on your mind," Kai observed, breaking the silence.
"I think we're all preoccupied with the same thoughts about Daisy's conspicuous silence. The ceremony went off without a hitch," I admitted, looking at their faces.
