Chapter 40. Edwin Was Clearly Someone Nice
Adrianna’s POV
“Greetings, Elder Edwin,” Marcus said with a deep bow.
He averted his gaze from me. My body stiffened when I saw anger flash through his eyes.
I twisted my fingers. Edwin leaned forward, “Marcus, how are you?” Edwin said, smiling at Marcus.
I shifted uncomfortably as Marcus walked to where we sat.
“May I ask why Elder Edwin is here?” Marcus said in a calm voice.
My eyes darted between them. I held my breath as it seemed like Marcus was a little hostile and polite at the same time to Edwin.
Suddenly, Edwin stood and straightened his shirt. “I came to visit my nephew, but I guess I have to take my leave now,” Edwin said with his hand behind.
Then he shifted his gaze to mine, “We will meet again, Adrianna,” he said with a polite smile.
I smiled widely at him. “I will keep that in mind, sir,” I said as I bowed to him.
