Chapter 42. Beyond What I Could Control

Kael’s POV

I sat on the couch, tapping my feet on the floor. I didn’t know what I was doing sitting here when I should probably be showering or doing something else, but no, here I was waiting for Adrianna.

And those gifts? Where did they come from? I ran my hand through my hair. She had whispered a man’s name while she was sleeping last night, and today she was already receiving gifts.

I was still lost in thought when I saw the door open slowly.

She walked in looking lost, until my eyes fell on her trembling shoulder and the sniff of her crying.

I asked instantly, but she didn’t respond. I walked to where she was. “Adrianna, who the hell made you cry?” I asked.

At this point, I could feel my heart burning with anger. Why was she crying? Who had dared to make her cry?
