Draven’s POV
My amber eyes glowed a dangerous crimson, bathing my vision in blood-red light. I unleashed my wolf side with ruthless precision, tearing the heads off Lucius’s rogues and witches as they surged toward me. Thick, revolting blood dripped from my elongated claws. When an idiot rogue lunged, I plunged my hand into his chest and yanked out his heart.
My gaze flicked to Galen and Ronan, locked in savage combat with more of Lucius’s minions. Everywhere I looked, claws and fangs carved through flesh. Night had already fallen, and the coppery stench of blood mingled with the cold midnight air.
We’d been fighting for what felt like hours, yet there was still no sign of Lucius himself. I tried to mind-link Maeve, to check on her, but the connection wouldn’t form. My worry spiked.
