Lennox’s POV
Luther growled again, his fury blazing. He was on the verge of tearing someone apart. Valera darted to the bed and gently laid a damp towel across Maeve’s forehead; she still lay unconscious.
“There’s no bloody way in hell that asshole is getting her back!” Luther snarled, flooding the Pack’s mind-link with his rage. The mental command was sharp and simple: The pack is under attack. Fight to kill!
I frowned as Luther stomped closer. “She isn’t going back to that stupid pack,” he said, his tone iron-hard. Anger crackled around him like lightning. This was exactly what he wanted—and what I wanted too—but our priorities had to lie with Maeve’s safety, not our revenge. I hesitated, and Luther read my thoughts instantly.
“This is best for her,” he insisted, voice low and certain. “She’ll be safer here with her family.”
