Chapter 90
Draven’s POV
My amber eyes never wavered from Thea’s, her sharp gaze fixing on mine with an intensity that made my blood run cold. For a heartbeat, her words echoed off the walls of my mind. Then I realized how absurd—and how utterly stupid—it was for me even to entertain such a notion, especially where a Black was concerned.
I knew Maeve too well. Whatever secrets she held back from me before, this couldn’t be one of them. Thea’s words had to be lies.
“Thea,” I said, forcing myself to stay calm. If anyone else had stormed into my office with such baseless accusations, I would’ve torn their heart out. But it was Thea—so I let her live.
She leaned forward, eager for my reaction. “What’s wrong, Draven?” Her brown eyes probed me, curious.
“Get out of my office,” I whispered, my voice as cold and calm as steel.
Thea blinked, taken aback. She retracted her hand from my desk and stepped back, fury sparking in her eyes. “Why won’t you believe me?”
