Draven’s POV

Without hesitation, I surged forward with inhuman speed, wind whipping past me in a blur of motion. In the span of heartbeats, I was beside Luther and Maeve. In one swift motion, I seized her from his arms, yanking her back as though she were the very source of my torment. My grip tightened around her upper arms, my nails biting into flesh as though to anchor myself in reality.

Shock widened Maeve’s electric blue eyes—those same eyes that once looked at me with nothing but love. Each thought, each shred of guilt or fear, was mirrored in her trembling gaze. She had lied to me. She had kept this secret lover hidden, a lover who happened to be my deadliest enemy.
