Chapter 31

While dinner was served, Aadhira patiently paid heed to whatever the royals were gossiping about. The retired alpha and the king was mostly talking to each other about stuff that Aadhira realised was too boring for her. She concluded that the 'management department' was definitely not for her. The queen and Arnav's mother were engaged in their own world of family matters and about others' families as well. Obviously, she did not know a single person they were talking about. This left her with her nightmare of a mate who, according to her, did not try to rescue her, when she was under the supposition of threat.

"I told you that the King will like you." She heard Arnav whisper as soon as the help placed the main dishes on the table. She looked in his direction which was easy to do, thanks for the seating arrangement. It was exactly as he had described, days ago.

She decided to not give him any reply. Why would she? She thought.

"I said something." He poked again.
