Nate’s POV

I couldn’t stop him, his brutal fury had erupted without me having a chance to even try to stop him, although I wasn’t sure that I would have acted differently.

Brutus flew through the air, snatching Beatrice from the relaxed-looking guard who handed her over without so much as a protest.

I could hear voices in the background but couldn’t focus on them as Brutus’s fury consumed me.

“Everyone out, it’s not safe here while he’s like this. I don’t want anyone getting caught in the crossfire and he would never forgive himself if he injured an innocent…”

“I see you wolves are even more touchy than I remembered.”
