Ember’s POV

Magda had laughed as the guards threw me down onto the table and splayed my arms across the center. The manacles around my wrist dug in tightly as they fixed the chains to the walls, leaving my arms outstretched and twisted at an incredibly uncomfortable angle.

She laughed as they forced my face down onto the hard surface of the table as they ripped at my clothes, leaving me naked and exposed.

I knew exactly what they intended with this. I was not here to be harvested this time. I was here to be bred. To be fucked by some vicious monster that had no mental acuity remaining to them and I was powerless to stop them.

I willed myself not to cry but the traitorous tears that escaped my eyes told Magda that she had won. She had succeeded in breaking me. The only thing that would get me through this horrific nightmare was the knowledge that Magda had no idea that I was already pregnant.
