Chapter 67. Unfavorable Surprise

All of a sudden, Anthony crouched on the floor. He lowered his head and his body shook. “I… need you, Grace. I need you … so that my family is not broken,” he said softly.

Grace wasn't sure about what she just heard. She then squatted next to him. "Ant. What's wrong with your family?" she asked. She reached out to touch him but was afraid to do so.

"I need you." Anthony ruffled his hair.

“You need me, what does that mean, Ant? I don’t understand." Grace asked again. She now felt very confused. The tough, humorous, and fun man turned into a depressed person.

Anthony lifted his face, already wet with tears. “I don't know how to put it. But I need you by my side," he said. "Please."

"What's the matter with your family? Me being by your side, what do you mean? And what does your family's brokenness have to do with you needing me?” Grace shot out questions that needed immediate answers.

"Sorry, Grace. Just forget it." Anthony answered shortly while wip
