Chapter 131. Power and Mystery

“Who are you?” demanded Saelyna. “How do you know my name? What do you want?”

There was a pause. A strange sort of heaviness fell over us. As we stared at the figure who emerged from the night, it occurred to us that this stranger must have some great power to be able to penetrate the fortress’s protective shield. We watched as he reached a hand toward Saelyna, the tips of his fingers glowing radiantly in the light of his surroundings.

“Come,” he said calmly.

He led Saelyna towards a small grove of trees, disappearing from view as he made his way between the trees. His form blended in with the darkness around him, vanishing completely as he passed behind the trees and out of sight.

Slowly we followed, each of us keeping our eyes peeled and alert for anything unusual. When we were close enough, we heard the rustle of leaves and branches as the person we believed to be the King of the Moonlit Lands made his way among the trees. We followed closely,
