Chapter 144. The Hurt

Slight panic enveloped my body when that was the first thing I saw. Olivia didn’t even stop when I entered the door and stood right next to the bed.
She’s not wearing her forest green gown anymore. Instead, the gown was hung on the back of the door with a wooden hanger.
“Please tell me this is not what it looks like,” I said. This isn’t what I wanted this night to end. Not right now, when I’m still making sense of everything. I’m still trying to make the loose ends meet.
“I had enough, Dylan. That stunt you pulled out there only confirmed what I was thinking of us these days. Tell me, you only used me as a rebound, didn’t you? You never really loved me truly. You only kept me around because, somehow, I made the pain hurt less. That’s it, right? Earlier, you made me believe that. I proved it to myself.”
