Chapter 152. Be Brave About One Thing

Last night was crazy.

The good thing is that Lyle had to pull an all-nighter at the law office to finish some stuff, so he didn’t manage to come home. Which turned out to be an advantage because of the sudden drunk call I received from Dylan.

It was around 11 pm, and I was reading past jurisprudence to prepare for a hearing. There, I got the most unexpected call.

Dylan’s name popped up in a flash and the sound of my ringtone sounded too loud.

I was surprised. Hell, if there’s a word better to describe it than being surprised, that’s exactly my reaction. He didn’t even retract the call. For almost a minute, it kept on ringing, and I was in a frozen form, staring at it.

Then I decided that maybe it was some sort of emergency. I slid the button to the right and took it.

“HEEEEEYYYY~” I frowned and checked the caller ID again. It’s Dylan, right?

The person on the other line was loud and perhaps… drunk?

“Dylan? Is this you?”
