My heart and mind are both telling me the same thing: stop it right now. To call and ask about the previous night is crazy enough already; to reiterate the question is insane.
I gulped after asking it. Being too stubborn for my own good. I heard Ashlene sigh on the other line. I know she’s also doubting whether to answer my question or not. Of course, between us, she’s the one who’s legally bound to someone. What she’ll say next would be detrimental to that relationship.
