Chapter 30
I deliberately refused to tell her the full story because there was no need to do so. Moments later, the waiter cleared our plates and replaced them with the grilled fish and fries I’d ordered. While Bam-Bam handled the fish with her knife and fork, I wrote an address on a small piece of paper and handed it to Bam-Bam, with the instruction that she couriers my personal stuff to the said address.
“The fish tastes good…and the fries, just like the Americans do it.”
Bam-Bam concurred with me on my last remark as I watched her pick the fries with her dainty fingers, one after the other, into her mouth. The drinks were soon finished, after which we joked and laughed a little. I paid for everything as the water was brought for us by the same waiter. A lot of people were now entering the restaurant, in twos and threes, while the waiters scrambled toward them.
